Statement of Intent

1: Introduction

This Statement of Intent outlines Redcone Recruitment’s overarching commitment to maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of its business operations. As a traffic management recruitment agency and subcontractor, Redcone Recruitment is committed to ensuring that all activities are carried out with the utmost professionalism,

integrity, and compliance with relevant laws and standards. This document reaffirms the principles and obligations set forth in the company’s key policies, including its Ethical Policy, Environmental Policy, Quality of Product Policy, Modern Day Slavery Statement, GDPR Policy, and Health and Safety Policy.

This Statement of Intent serves as a formal declaration of Redcone Recruitment’s commitment to legal compliance, sustainability, quality service delivery, the protection of personal data, and the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees, subcontractors, clients, and the public.

2: Purpose

The purpose of this Statement of Intent is to:

  • Reaffirm Redcone Recruitment’s commitment to the ethical, environmental, and legal responsibilities of its operations, ensuring that all policies are integrated into daily business practices.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with UK laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015, GDPR, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and all industry-specific standards such as NHSS 12A/B and 12D.
  • Set out Redcone Recruitment’s approach to delivering high-quality, safe, and sustainable traffic management services, while safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of all stakeholders.

3: Commitment to Ethical Practices

Redcone Recruitment is fully committed to ethical business practices across all its operations. In accordance with the Ethical Policy, we are dedicated to:

  • Conducting business with integrity and transparency, ensuring all practices are legal, fair, and
  • Reducing our carbon footprint through responsible fleet management, waste reduction, and the use of energy- efficient equipment such as battery-powered traffic lights and LED signage.
  • Sourcing materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors who adhere to ethical standards, including the elimination of forced labour and human trafficking in line with our Modern Day Slavery Statement.
  • Protecting the environment by implementing measures that reduce our environmental impact, as outlined in our Environmental Policy.

4: Commitment to Quality

Redcone Recruitment strives to deliver traffic management services that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. In line with our Quality of Product Policy, we commit to:

  • Providing fully trained, qualified, and competent NHSS 12A/B and 12D operatives who will perform their duties with professionalism and respect for safety
  • Ensuring that all subcontracted services are delivered to the same high standards, with strict adherence to UK laws, NHSS guidelines, and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Promoting a customer-focused approach, ensuring clear communication, timely service delivery, and consistent monitoring of performance to achieve continuous improvement and client satisfaction.

5: Commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing

Redcone Recruitment places the highest priority on the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees,

subcontractors, clients, and the general public. In accordance with our Health and Safety Policy, we are dedicated to:

  • Maintaining compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, ISO 45001 standards, and other relevant safety
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments for all operations, with particular attention to the high-risk nature of traffic management
  • Providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to all operatives and subcontractors, and ensuring that they are fully trained in health and safety procedures.
  • Fostering a positive safety culture in which all employees and subcontractors take personal responsibility for health and safety, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.
  • Ensuring that accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences are reported, investigated, and followed by corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

6: Commitment to Data Protection and Privacy

Redcone Recruitment recognises the importance of protecting personal data and ensuring compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. In line with our GDPR Policy, we commit to:

  • Collecting, processing, and storing personal data in a lawful, transparent, and secure
  • Implementing robust data protection measures to safeguard personal information and prevent unauthorised access or breaches.
  • Ensuring that data subjects have clear access to their rights under GDPR, including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and objection.
  • Responding promptly to any data breaches, notifying the ICO and affected individuals where necessary, and taking corrective action to prevent future incidents.

7: Modern Slavery and Human Rights

Redcone Recruitment is committed to upholding human rights and ensuring that no form of modern slavery or

human trafficking is present within its operations or supply chain. As outlined in our Modern Day Slavery Statement, we will:

  • Enforce a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in all business
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on all suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Provide training to all employees and subcontractors on identifying and preventing modern slavery, and offer confidential reporting mechanisms for raising concerns.
  • Investigate any reports of suspected modern slavery and terminate contracts with suppliers or subcontractors found to be in breach of anti-slavery laws.

8: Environmental Sustainability

Redcone Recruitment is committed to minimising the environmental impact of its operations, as set out in our Environmental Policy. We will:

  • Strive to reduce carbon emissions from our fleet by utilising fuel-efficient vehicles, encouraging eco-friendly driving practices, and exploring low-emission alternatives.
  • Prioritise the use of energy-efficient traffic management equipment, including LED signboards, solar-powered traffic lights, and battery-powered systems.
  • Implement waste reduction measures by recycling traffic management equipment where possible and ensuring that hazardous materials, such as traffic light batteries, are disposed of responsibly.
  • Regularly review and improve our environmental practices to align with legal requirements, industry best practices, and evolving environmental standards.

9: Continuous Improvement and Accountability

Redcone Recruitment is dedicated to continuous improvement across all aspects of its business operations. We will:

  • Regularly review and update all policies, including our Ethical Policy, Environmental Policy, Quality of Product Policy, Modern Day Slavery Statement, GDPR Policy, and Health and Safety Policy, to ensure ongoing relevance and compliance with changing laws and industry standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and environmental impact, taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Encourage open communication with employees, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders, welcoming feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our practices.
  • Hold senior management accountable for the effective implementation and enforcement of this Statement of Intent and the associated policies.
  • Foster a culture of responsibility where all employees and subcontractors understand their role in contributing to the company’s success, quality standards, and legal compliance.

10: Policy Review and Communication

Policy Review

This Statement of Intent, along with all associated policies, will be reviewed periodically, at least once every two years, or in response to significant changes in legislation, industry standards, or Redcone Recruitment’s operations.

10.2 Communication of the Statement

This Statement of Intent will be communicated to all employees, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring they are fully aware of Redcone Recruitment’s commitments and responsibilities in upholding the highest standards of ethical business conduct, quality service delivery, environmental sustainability, and health and safety.
